Messianic World Update: Israel's Judicial Overhaul Bill and Tisha B'Av

Welcome to another edition of Messianic World Update, I’m Monte Judah. In this week's episode, I discuss Israel's Judicial Overhaul Bill, Tisha B'Av, and the impact of climate change on the United States.

Tisha B'Av

On Thursday, Israel observed Tisha B'Av, which is the anniversary of the destruction of the temple by the Babylonians and the Romans. The date is significant in the history of Israel, and many bad things have happened on this date. Businesses shut down, and citizens of Israel observe a fast.

Israel's Judicial Overhaul Bill

The Knesset recently passed the first part of the Judicial Overhaul Bill, which rebalances the government by limiting the judicial branch's power. However, the Supreme Court must review all bills that go through the Knesset, and in September, they will be meeting to decide whether to allow the bill to go forward or reject it. Several petitioners, including opposition groups, are expected to attend the hearing.

The next set of bills in the Judicial Overhaul are even more significant, including the selection of judges by elected representatives. There are concerns that the bill could lead to a possible civil war in Israel. However, I believe that the coalition government is the elected government of the citizens of Israel, and real democracy will work in Israel.

Climate Change in the United States

The United States is currently facing a heatwave, and the government has allocated funds to help citizens deal with it. However, I question the efficacy of the government's actions, including allocating $7 million to the National Weather Service to improve weather predictions. I believe that climate change is being treated like a religion and that it's a new way of thinking.
