Welcome to another edition of Messianic World Update. I’m Monte Judah. I want to share some alarming news from Israel. There are rumors of a possible military coup by former Prime Minister and military general Ehud Barak, who is reportedly talking to other military personnel in Israel. This news comes at a time when Israel is already facing protests and tensions over the judicial overhaul taking place, which the Netanyahu Government passed in the Knesset.
The liberal elements within Israel are opposed to the conservative and religious parties having any say in the government. The religious parties want to make sure that God's laws and commandments are followed, while the liberals want to move away from theocracy and set up a more liberal and democratic government. This is causing a spiritual conflict in Israel, which could lead to the fulfillment of a prophecy about an altar on the Temple Mount.
The tensions in Israel are also being fueled by Iran's encouragement of Hezbollah's provocations on Israel's northern border. There are concerns about Hezbollah attacking the northern communities in Israel, and Israel is looking at reinforcing that border by building a concrete wall separating Lebanon from Israel. Israel is also sending a delegation to the UN Security Council to explain that they want the UNIFIL peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon to be extended and beefed up to enforce the buffer zone between Hezbollah and Israel.
Meanwhile, Poland is moving about 6,000 of their NATO troops to the border with Belarus, as the Wagner group, under the control of Russia, has decided to move about 3,800 of their troops into Belarus. Putin may be thinking about using the Wagner group to harass other NATO nations and other nations bordering Belarus, causing more confusion with NATO over the Russia-Ukraine War.
The tensions between Israel and Iran are also escalating, with Iran moving anti-ship missiles closer to the Strait of Hormuz and bringing in more drones to threaten the ships from the air. The US has moved a marine expeditionary unit with a whole bunch of Marines into the Persian Gulf to stop the Iranians from coming out and seizing ships or harassing them with their fast boats.
I urge us to pray for Israel concerning these matters, as they could be very disruptive to the state of Israel.
In conclusion, the developments in Israel and the surrounding region are concerning. It is important for us as believers to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and to keep watch as we see these prophetic events unfold.
