June 21st, 2024 | Messianic World Update | US-Israel Relations and the Ongoing Gaza Conflict

Shalom everyone, I'm Monte Judah with Lion and Lamb Ministries. Welcome to another edition of Messianic World Update. Today’s date is Friday, June 21st of the year 2024, and here are the headlines from this week.

The strained relationship between the U.S. and Israel took center stage when Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, decided to voice his grievances about the delays in the delivery of certain weapons promised by the United States. His critique, not surprisingly, did not sit well with the U.S. administration. Admiral Kirby at the White House denied having any knowledge of the issues Netanyahu was referring to, further accusing him of ingratitude for the support the U.S. has extended to Israel.

It is becoming increasingly apparent that the Biden administration's proclaimed support for Israel is more rhetoric than reality. As evidence, the White House, in response to Netanyahu's critique, canceled a series of meetings, leaving the future of U.S.-Israel relations uncertain.

The situation in the Middle East continues to be tense. Hezbollah's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, made a series of bold statements this week, claiming that Hezbollah has the capability to attack any part of Israel and also threatening the island nation of Cyprus because of their military support of Israel. Meanwhile, Israel continues to focus its efforts on the tunnel network in Gaza, the hub of Hamas's operations.

The war in Gaza is causing severe social and political repercussions. One of the most harrowing of these is the possibility of the Israeli women giving birth in captivity, a consequence of the abuse suffered by them after being taken hostage. This adds another layer of complexity to an already fraught situation.

In domestic politics, Netanyahu's coalition government is on thin ice. Benny Gantz's withdrawal from the war cabinet and the resulting dissolution of the cabinet have left decision-making in the hands of the Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, and other ministers. The religious parties are upset as well, due to an exemption bill before the Knesset that could potentially draft yeshiva students into the IDF.

Nationwide protests in Israel continue to grow as citizens demand the safe return of hostages. The financial burden of the war is also beginning to take its toll, with potential tax increases on the horizon. This could further destabilize Netanyahu's already shaky government.

Despite the many challenges, one thing remains certain: we must continue to pray for our nation, our allies, and our fellow believers around the world.

Thank you all for reading the blog each week. We appreciate your support and your prayers. Please join us at LionandLamb.tv to stay up-to-date on our broadcasts and the material that we put out here at the ministry.
