January 27th, 2025 | Messianic World Update | Israel Marks 80 Years Since Auschwitz Liberation Amid Rising Global Tensions
Shalom, everyone, I'm Monte Judah with Lion and Lamb Ministries, bringing you the latest Messianic World Update. Today's date is January 31, 2025, and the news from the Middle East this week is both sobering and significant.
This week marks a profound milestone as Israel and the world observed the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. The commemoration of the Holocaust comes at a particularly poignant time, as we witness a disturbing surge in global antisemitism. Despite the world's promise to "never forget," we're seeing concerning signs of history potentially repeating itself, with Jews in places like Australia having to conceal their identity for safety.
In more current events, we've seen some positive developments regarding the hostage situation in Gaza. Three hostages, including Arbel Yehud, were released this week, along with five Thai foreign workers. Three more releases are anticipated this weekend, including Yarden Bibas and American-Israeli Keith Siegel. However, serious concerns remain about the fate of many others, particularly the Bibas family's mother, Shiri, and their two young children, Ariel, now 5 years old, and Kfir, now 2 years old.
President Trump has proposed a controversial plan to resettle Palestinians from Gaza into Egypt and Jordan. While this proposal was immediately rejected by these nations, Trump remains confident in its potential implementation. The core issue, as I see it, isn't merely about territory—it's a religious conflict at its heart, with the fundamental question being whose God is greater.
The situation continues to evolve, with Israel taking stronger stances against terrorism, including discussions about changing how they handle captured terrorists. As the prophet Zechariah foretold, we're witnessing Judah being like a fire pot among sheaves, with surrounding enemies being consumed in their attempts to attack Israel.
Israeli politics continues to be in somewhat of a turmoil, with Prime Minister Netanyahu pledging early elections to his opponents, Yair Lapid and Benny Gantz. Also in question is the structure of Israel’s Supreme Court. PM Netanyahu maintains a slim lead over his opponents, despite the departure of the religious right headed by Ben-Gvir and Bezelel Smotrich. We will continue to watch the situation carefully as it evolves and bring the latest to you.
Please pray for President Trump as he implements his plans for peace through strength in moving our nation forward, pray for Israel and all that is happening there, pray for the safe return of the hostages to their families, and pray for antisemitism to be struck down wherever it presents itself.
Shabbat Shalom to all of you
