May 2, 2025 | Messianic World Update | Middle East Tensions Rise as Iran Talks Continue
Shalom, everyone, I'm Monte Judah with Lion and Lamb Ministries, bringing you the latest Messianic World Update. Today's date is May 2nd, 2025, and there are significant developments in the Middle East that demand our attention as we watch prophecy unfold before our eyes.
The ongoing situation with Iran continues to demonstrate the prophetic pattern we see in Scripture. The U.S. diplomatic efforts with Iran mirror the warning in Daniel about those who come with smooth words of peace. Negotiations have been postponed but are expected to continue in Rome, with the Sultan of Oman as mediator. President Trump announced this week that National Security Advisor Mike Walz was being nominated to the position of UN Ambassador for the U.S., with Secretary of State Marco Rubio assuming the advisor role temporarily. The U.S. says Iran’s nuclear weapon program is a no-go; Iran says they don’t have a weapon program; and Israel says the entire program must go, no enrichment or missiles.
Of particular concern is Israel's current position, finding itself sidelined in these negotiations. This reminds us of the prophetic warning that Israel would stand alone in the last days. Netanyahu's hands are effectively tied, unable to take unilateral action against Iran's nuclear threat without U.S. approval.
In Gaza, we're witnessing another attempt to break Israel's blockade through a "Freedom Flotilla" organized by Hamas and Turkey to bring humanitarian aid into Gaza. Israel has blocked the convoys of aid into Gaza because Hamas is stealing the supplies and then selling them to the Palestinians. If Gaza citizens are caught trying to take any of the supplies, Hamas fighters shoot or maim them on sight. As the flotilla made its way past the island nation of Malta, there was a drone attack on one of these vessels, showing the complex nature of this ongoing conflict.
The situation with some American universities, particularly Harvard and Columbia, reflects the growing anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, and anti-Jewish stance of many students, staff, and faculty. The Federal government's action to potentially revoke their tax-exempt status reminds us that we must stand firm with Israel and against anti-Semitism in all its forms.
The hostage crisis in Gaza continues to weigh heavily on our hearts, with 59 hostages still in captivity and only 24 believed to be alive. This situation calls us to increased prayer and intercession for their safe return.
These events, dear friends, are not random occurrences but pieces of a prophetic puzzle foretold to us by the Messiah. As we observe these developments, we must remain vigilant and prayerful, always looking to the soon return of our Messiah Yeshua.
Shabbat Shalom to all of you.
