ISRAEL ELECTION RESULTS, IRAN MILITARY PLANS & U.S. SECURITY ALERTS

Shalom, everyone, and welcome to another edition of Messianic World Update. Today’s date is Friday, October 30, 2026, and here’s the news for this week.

This week, we are watching several significant developments that could have far-reaching consequences for Israel, the United States, and the world. Israel's election results are in, but the battle to form a government is far from over. Meanwhile, President Trump and his military advisers are reportedly weighing new options for dealing with Iran, and concerns are growing over possible retaliatory attacks against American infrastructure.

These are serious matters, and I want to share what we're watching, what these developments could mean, and why I believe this is a time for believers to remain alert, prepared, and courageous.

Israel's Election: Netanyahu Wins, but Can He Form a Government?

The results of Israel's national election are in, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party has emerged with the largest number of seats of any individual political party. However, the election has not produced a clear governing majority.

According to the results we're tracking, Netanyahu's coalition bloc secured 53 seats, while the opposing bloc won 48. Arab political parties captured the remaining 19 seats in Israel's 120-seat Knesset, representing a significant increase in their political influence. The challenge is that neither major bloc has reached the 61 seats required to form a government.

Netanyahu is expected to receive the opportunity from President Isaac Herzog to negotiate a governing coalition. That means he must persuade additional political parties, potentially including those currently aligned with his opposition, to join him. If those negotiations fail, the opposition could receive an opportunity to form a government. If neither side succeeds, Israel could face yet another election.

For now, Netanyahu remains in office, leading a caretaker government while these negotiations unfold.

The Haredi Military Service Debate

One of the most significant obstacles to forming a coalition involves military service requirements for Israel's ultra-Orthodox, or Haredi, population.

Netanyahu's coalition includes religious parties that have historically supported exemptions from mandatory military service for Haredi religious students. His Likud party is reportedly exploring possible compromises that would allow some form of military participation while accommodating religious needs.

On the opposing side, there is strong support for requiring Haredi students to serve in the Israel Defense Forces under the same general obligations as other Israeli citizens who are subject to the draft.

This disagreement has already generated protests, legal challenges, and considerable political tension. The issue could ultimately determine which political parties are willing to join Netanyahu's coalition and whether a government can be formed at all.

Record Voter Participation and the Arab Political Parties

Another remarkable aspect of this election was voter turnout, reported at more than 77 percent. Some Israeli citizens even traveled from other countries specifically to cast their ballots. A significant number of those traveling voters reportedly opposed Netanyahu, hoping to see a change in leadership. If another election becomes necessary, it is uncertain whether those voters would return again, potentially changing the outcome.

The Arab parties also experienced a substantial increase in representation, securing 19 seats. Some reportedly doubled their previous representation. There have been allegations of election irregularities and possible foreign influence, but from what I have examined, I have not seen convincing evidence substantiating those claims. The larger story remains Israel's political uncertainty and the difficult negotiations ahead.

President Trump Weighs Military Options Against Iran

While Israel navigates its political future, another major development is unfolding in Washington.

President Trump reportedly met with senior military leadership, including Admiral Cooper, General Dan Caine, and War Secretary Pete Hegseth, to discuss possible military options against Iran. The central question is what kind of military action could effectively weaken Iran's capabilities without drawing the United States into another prolonged conflict.

Several possibilities have been discussed, including strikes against Iran's electrical infrastructure, oil-processing facilities, and other strategic targets. Trump has also previously raised the possibility of using powerful conventional weapons, including the Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb, commonly known as the MOAB.

Iran is already experiencing tremendous economic pressure, but economic hardship alone has not eliminated the regime's military capabilities or its ability to threaten its adversaries. Israel would like to see a change in Iran's leadership. However, American military advisers reportedly question whether military strikes alone could accomplish regime change. That creates a difficult strategic dilemma.

Preventing a Nuclear-Armed Iran

At the heart of this discussion is Iran's nuclear program. Israeli assessments discussed in previous updates suggest that Iran's leadership is determined to pursue nuclear weapons capabilities. These concerns, if confirmed, would make preventing a nuclear-armed Iran an urgent priority.

President Trump must weigh several competing objectives: preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons, minimizing American casualties, limiting the financial costs of military action, and avoiding another long-term war. Netanyahu, meanwhile, is focused on eliminating threats that could endanger Israel for years to come. Iran has long been a major source of support for hostile organizations operating throughout the Middle East. Israel views weakening that support as essential to its future security.

My assessment is that, if the United States chooses military action, it may favor a short, intensive campaign designed to achieve specific objectives rather than a prolonged ground war. But whether that approach would succeed remains uncertain. The timing is another important question. Military action could occur soon after the American elections, or the administration could take additional time to prepare.

We will continue watching these developments closely.

Growing Security Concerns in the United States

One of the most concerning developments we're following involves the possibility of Iranian retaliation against the United States. I am hearing reports of heightened security awareness at American military installations and among security personnel in the United States and other nations.

The concern is that Iran could attempt to disrupt American operations or interfere with the upcoming elections, whether or not the United States launches military strikes first. Among the scenarios being discussed are cyberattacks and sabotage targeting critical infrastructure, particularly the American electrical grid.

I want to emphasize that these are potential threats and scenarios being assessed, not confirmed attacks or evidence that a nationwide disruption is imminent. Nevertheless, the consequences of a major electrical outage could be significant.

Why the Electrical Grid Is a Serious Concern

Modern American life depends heavily on electricity. If a major disruption occurred, the consequences could extend well beyond simply losing the lights in our homes. Cellular communications could be interrupted, businesses might be forced to close, and grocery stores, gas stations, and other essential services could experience operational difficulties. Restoring power after a widespread infrastructure attack could also be complicated, depending on the extent of the damage.

American security agencies are working to protect critical infrastructure, but the possibility of disruption is something citizens should take seriously. That is why I believe practical preparation is appropriate.

I would encourage families to keep their vehicles fueled, maintain adequate drinking water, and make sure they have groceries and essential supplies available in the event of a temporary interruption in normal services. Preparing for several days without commercial electrical power is a reasonable precaution, regardless of whether a particular threat materializes.

This is not about creating fear or panic. It is about recognizing potential vulnerabilities and exercising wisdom.

The Wheat and the Tares: Understanding the Times We Live In

As I consider everything happening in Israel, Iran, and the United States, I am reminded of Yeshua's parable of the wheat and the tares in Matthew 13. In that parable, a man planted good seed in his field, but an enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat. Both grew together until the harvest, when the time came for them to be separated. I believe this is an important picture for believers today.

We live in a world where good and evil exist side by side. We see developments that bring hope and encouragement, while at the same time witnessing events that produce uncertainty, conflict, and fear. Yeshua taught us that these realities would exist as God's purposes unfold. Our responsibility is not to surrender to fear but to remain faithful, discerning, and prepared. We cannot control every political decision, military development, or international crisis. But we can control how we respond. We can remain grounded in our faith, care for our families, and exercise wisdom in the decisions we make.

A Call to Courage, Responsibility, and Faith

As we approach the American elections next week, I want to encourage everyone to exercise one of the important responsibilities we have as citizens: Go out and vote. Study the issues, consider the leadership of our nation, and make your voice heard through the electoral process. We have an opportunity to participate in shaping our country's future, and we should take that responsibility seriously.

At the same time, we must remember that our ultimate confidence is not in political leaders, military strength, or government institutions. Our confidence rests in the Lord. The world may be uncertain, but His promises remain steadfast.

So be strong. Be courageous. Be watchful. Make reasonable preparations for your household, remain informed about world events, and continue walking faithfully in the instructions of our Messiah. These are serious days, but they are also days when believers have an opportunity to demonstrate wisdom, courage, and unwavering faith.
