May 22, 2026 | Messianic World Update | Israel Tribunal, Iran Tensions & Prophetic Signs
Shalom, everyone, I’m Monte Judah with Lion and Lamb Ministries, bringing you the latest Messianic World Update. Today’s date is Friday, May 22nd, 2026.
As we enter this Memorial Day weekend here in the United States, I want to begin by honoring the men and women who gave their lives defending this nation. We remember those who went into battle and never returned home, those who stood their post faithfully, and those families who still bear the burden of sacrifice. Freedom is never free, and we should all pause this weekend with gratitude and humility before the Lord for the blessings we continue to enjoy because of their courage.
This week’s world events once again remind us that we are living in prophetic times. The nations are raging, alliances are shifting, Israel remains at the center of global controversy, and the instability of the Middle East continues to intensify. From Gaza to Lebanon, from Tehran to Washington, the pressure continues to build.
Israel’s Internal Struggles Continue
Israel is facing a major manpower crisis within the military. The government desperately needs thousands of additional soldiers as the war stretches beyond two years. The central debate inside Israel right now revolves around the Haredi ultra-Orthodox community and whether their young men should be drafted into military service.
The secular and national religious Israelis are increasingly frustrated. Their sons and daughters are serving long deployments, while many ultra-Orthodox yeshiva students remain exempt. The political tension over this issue threatens Prime Minister Netanyahu’s coalition government and could potentially trigger early elections.
From a biblical and prophetic standpoint, this conflict illustrates the growing strain within Israeli society itself. Israel is still learning how to function as both a modern state and the covenant people of God. The pressure of war exposes divisions that have existed for many years beneath the surface.
Israel Establishes Tribunal for October 7 Terrorists
One of the most significant developments this week was Israel authorizing a special military tribunal to prosecute the terrorists involved in the October 7 massacre. The legislation includes the possibility of the death penalty.
More than 300 Hamas terrorists have reportedly been identified and detained. Ironically, Hamas provided much of the evidence themselves by recording videos during the attacks. Israel has painstakingly gathered the footage and identified many participants directly.
The Israeli government has made it abundantly clear: they do not intend to forget October 7, nor will they allow those responsible to escape justice.
Even during temporary ceasefire arrangements in Gaza, Israel targeted and eliminated one of the chief Hamas architects behind the October 7 attacks. Israeli leadership continues to communicate that there will be no safe haven for those who planned and carried out these atrocities.
Judea and Samaria Remain a Flashpoint
Israel also passed legislation supporting restoration of Jewish historical sites throughout Judea and Samaria. This move naturally raises renewed discussion regarding annexation and sovereignty over biblical lands.
As students of prophecy, we always pay attention whenever annexation discussions arise because these issues directly connect to Jerusalem and ultimately to the Temple Mount itself.
At the same time, troubling reports continue regarding extremist Israeli youth carrying out retaliatory attacks against Palestinians in Judea and Samaria. Homes and vehicles have reportedly been burned, livestock stolen, and violent assaults committed.
These actions are wrong and damaging both morally and politically. While many Israelis point to years of Palestinian terrorism against Jewish communities, unlawful retaliation only deepens hatred and instability in the land.
Scripture teaches justice and righteousness. Israel must defend itself, but lawlessness and vengeance cannot become acceptable behavior.
Gaza Flotilla Stopped Again
Another international flotilla attempted to break the Israeli naval blockade around Gaza this week. Israeli commandos intercepted the vessels near the coast and detained hundreds of activists before returning many of them home.
Turkey continues to play a major role in supporting these demonstrations and increasing diplomatic pressure against Israel.
The situation in Gaza remains one of the central issues fueling global anti-Israel sentiment. Sadly, much of the world continues to ignore Hamas terrorism while placing nearly all blame upon Israel.
Lebanon and Hezbollah Escalate Attacks
Northern Israel remains under serious threat from Hezbollah. This week explosive drones crossed into Israeli territory, killing and wounding Israeli personnel. Israel retaliated with major airstrikes in Beirut, targeting Hezbollah leadership and infrastructure.
The northern front remains highly dangerous and could easily expand into a broader regional war. Hezbollah continues operating as Iran’s primary proxy force against Israel.
Iran Continues Its Delay Strategy
The situation with Iran remains deeply concerning. While diplomatic negotiations continue, Iran’s supreme leadership openly refuses to abandon uranium enrichment or its nuclear ambitions.
President Trump appears committed to pursuing negotiations through Pakistani intermediaries, while Israel strongly favors renewed military action against Iranian nuclear facilities.
At the moment, there appears to be a growing divide between Washington and Jerusalem over timing and strategy.
From my perspective, Iran’s strategy remains exactly what it has always been: delay, deceive, negotiate endlessly, and continue advancing their capabilities behind the scenes.
Israel understands this clearly. Many within Israeli leadership believe time is running out.
U.S. Navy Demonstrates Massive Defensive Power
One of the most remarkable military developments this week involved three U.S. Navy destroyers transiting the Strait of Hormuz. According to reports, Iran launched a massive coordinated attack involving drones, anti-ship missiles, and fast assault craft.
The American ships successfully intercepted every incoming threat using layered missile defenses and coordinated naval systems. Within minutes, the Navy traced the launch points and retaliated with Tomahawk cruise missile strikes that destroyed the attacking positions.
This demonstration sent a very powerful message not only to Iran but also to China. Nations around the world are watching carefully as military powers prepare for future conflict scenarios.
Anti-Israel Politics Continue in America
Here in the United States, anti-Israel sentiment continues growing in certain political circles. One congressman known for opposing both President Trump and Israel lost his primary election this week.
I’ll simply say this plainly: leaders who oppose God’s purposes concerning Israel eventually find themselves standing against the God of Israel Himself.
At the same time, America continues facing disturbing acts of violence fueled by radical hatred. The attack this week against an Islamic center in San Diego reportedly involved extremists who expressed hatred toward both Muslims and Jews.
Hatred, violence, and chaos are increasing throughout the world exactly as the Scriptures warned us would happen in the last days.
Supporting Israel and the Friends of the IDF
I want to sincerely thank all of you who have participated in our Friends of the IDF campaign this month. Your generosity has been overwhelming.
As a fellow veteran, this campaign is especially close to my heart. Israeli soldiers often receive immediate medical treatment after injuries, but long-term emotional and psychological support is much more limited. Organizations like Friends of the IDF provide counseling, mental health care, family assistance, and support for wounded veterans, widows, and orphans.
We recently shared the testimony of Dudi Lev, an Israeli combat veteran seriously wounded after October 7. Through counseling and support provided by Friends of the IDF, his life and family relationships are being restored.
Your donations are making a real difference for these soldiers and their families.
Prepare Now for Tabernacles
I also want to remind everyone that registration is now open for our Feast of Tabernacles event this fall here in Oklahoma.
Tabernacles is one of the greatest times of fellowship, worship, teaching, and rejoicing before the Lord. Many believers have never truly experienced the joy commanded in the Feast of Tabernacles. When you come celebrate with us, you’ll understand why Scripture calls it the season of rejoicing.
Start making your plans now to attend with us.
The days ahead are growing darker, but the Word of God remains true. Israel remains central to God’s prophetic plan, and believers must remain steadfast, discerning, and faithful.
Continue praying for Israel, praying for our military, praying for wisdom among world leaders, and praying for the peace of Jerusalem.
Until next week,
Shabbat Shalom to all of you.
