March 13, 2026 | Messianic World Update | Iran War Escalates, Hezbollah Joins Conflict, Strait of Hormuz Crisis

Shalom, everyone, I’m Monte Judah with Lion and Lamb Ministries, bringing you the latest Messianic World Update. Today’s date is Friday, March 13, 2026.

This past week has been marked by an escalation of conflict in the Middle East that is now reverberating across the globe. What began as targeted strikes against Iran’s military capabilities has expanded into a broader regional confrontation involving multiple nations, terrorist organizations, and critical global infrastructure.

The United States and Israel continue their coordinated air campaigns—Operation Roaring Lion and Operation Epic Fury. We are now approximately two weeks into what military planners anticipate could be a four-week bombing campaign aimed at dismantling Iran’s military infrastructure and its capacity to wage war against Israel and its neighbors.

Over 5,000 targets inside Iran have already been struck. In the early phase of the operation, precision stand-off weapons were used to neutralize critical defenses and command structures. Now the strategy has shifted to a heavy bombardment campaign. Aircraft are carrying massive bomb loads equipped with JDAM guidance kits and striking hardened and strategic targets throughout the country.

Iran’s response has become increasingly desperate. Their missile and drone launches have declined significantly because Israeli and U.S. forces are systematically destroying launch platforms and degrading their stockpiles. However, Iran continues to fire what weapons they can while simultaneously expanding the battlefield.

Rather than focusing solely on Israel and U.S. forces, Iran has begun attacking nearly every nation surrounding the Persian Gulf. The United Arab Emirates has been hit particularly hard, with hundreds of missiles striking airports, hotels, and civilian areas. These indiscriminate attacks prompted an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council, though historically Iran has shown little concern for international condemnation.

Civilian casualties have mounted across the region. In Israel, injuries have largely come from falling debris after missiles are intercepted. Even when a missile is destroyed in the air, the remaining fragments can cause significant damage when they fall back to earth.

Iran has also employed cluster munitions in several missile strikes against Israel. These weapons scatter dozens of smaller explosive bomblets across a wide area. Many nations consider them illegal because they are designed primarily to injure civilians rather than strike military targets. Israeli explosive ordnance teams are working tirelessly to locate and neutralize these bomblets before innocent people are harmed.

Meanwhile, the strategic chokepoint of the Strait of Hormuz has become another flashpoint in this conflict. Iran is attempting to disrupt global oil supplies by threatening ships moving through the narrow passage between the Persian Gulf and the open sea. Missile attacks, drones, and sea mines are being used to intimidate commercial shipping.

As a result, global energy markets are already feeling the impact. Countries heavily dependent on Persian Gulf oil—such as China and South Korea—are experiencing severe supply concerns. In some regions, fuel shortages and long lines are beginning to appear.

The United States Navy is actively working to neutralize Iranian sea mines and protect shipping lanes. Warships are escorting vessels through the strait while specialized teams search for and disable underwater mines deployed by Iranian forces.

Adding further tension to the conflict, Hezbollah in Lebanon has now joined Iran in attacking Israel. Hundreds of rockets have been launched into Israeli territory, triggering Israel’s Iron Dome defense system repeatedly. In response, Israel has begun striking Hezbollah leadership and infrastructure in Beirut while preparing for a possible ground operation into southern Lebanon.

Behind these developments lies a deeper ideological motivation. Iran’s leadership subscribes to a Shiite Islamic prophecy concerning the arrival of the Mahdi—their messianic figure. According to their belief system, the Mahdi will appear during a time of worldwide conflict and chaos. From their perspective, igniting a broader global war may actually fulfill their religious expectations.

This is why Iran appears willing to escalate the conflict rather than contain it.

As believers who study the Scriptures, we recognize that these events should cause us to look carefully at the prophetic Word. The prophet Zechariah spoke of a time when Jerusalem would become a “cup of trembling” to the nations and when God would defend His people against those who gather against them.

In Zechariah chapter 12, the Lord declares that Jerusalem will become a heavy stone for the nations and that those who attempt to lift it will injure themselves. The prophecy describes a time when God will strengthen Judah so that they become like a firepot among dry sheaves—consuming the enemies around them.

As we observe the present conflict, we can see elements of this prophecy unfolding. Israel is surrounded by hostile forces, yet it continues to stand and defend itself against overwhelming opposition.

Beyond the battlefield overseas, the conflict is also having implications here at home in the United States. Radical Islamic ideology has inspired lone-wolf attacks within our own country. These threats highlight the need for vigilance and strong national security measures.

Ultimately, the struggle we are witnessing is not merely geopolitical—it is spiritual. Radical Islamist movements frame their conflict in theological terms, believing they are fighting a holy war against what they call infidels.

As followers of the God of Israel and believers in the Messiah, we recognize that the true battle between light and darkness is spiritual in nature. The Scriptures remind us that in the last days there will be increasing turmoil among the nations before the final redemption.

In times like these, our responsibility is clear.

We must pray for Israel.

We must pray for our nation.

And we must remain strong and courageous in faith, just as Joshua was instructed when he entered the land.

The world may grow darker, but we are called to shine the light of truth wherever we are.

Thank you for watching and supporting this ministry. Continue to pray for wisdom, discernment, and protection for all those affected by these events.

Shabbat Shalom to all of you.
