March 5, 2026 | Messianic World Update | Israel and U.S. Strike Iran as Major Middle East War Begins
Shalom, everyone, I’m Monte Judah with Lion and Lamb Ministries, bringing you the latest Messianic World Update. Today’s date is Friday, March 6th of the year 2026.
This week has brought one of the most dramatic developments in the modern history of the Middle East. The long-anticipated confrontation between Israel, the United States, and Iran has now erupted into open warfare. After months of rising tension, failed negotiations, and increasing military preparation, the conflict that many analysts predicted has finally begun.
In Israel the campaign has been named Operation Roaring Lion, while in the United States it is called Operation Epic Fury. These operations mark a coordinated military response aimed at stopping Iran from reaching nuclear weapons capability and dismantling its regional terror infrastructure.
For months, negotiations were underway between the United States and Iran. The primary topic publicly discussed was Iran’s nuclear program. However, the broader concerns were far more serious: Iran’s ballistic missile development and its sponsorship of proxy terrorist groups across the Middle East. While diplomats spoke about “progress” and “frameworks,” it now appears those negotiations were far less promising than many believed.
During one of the most recent rounds of negotiations, Iranian officials reportedly boasted that they already possessed enough uranium enriched to 60% purity that it could quickly be taken to weapons-grade levels. They even claimed to have enough material for more than ten nuclear devices. For both Israel and the United States, that statement crossed a red line. Iran had effectively become a nuclear threshold nation.
At nearly the same moment, intelligence revealed a critical opportunity. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei was scheduled to meet with his top military commanders at a specific compound in Tehran. Israeli cyber intelligence had long been monitoring security movements in the city through compromised traffic cameras and other surveillance tools. By tracking the vehicles of security personnel protecting Iran’s leadership, analysts were able to confirm the meeting location and time.
The assessment from American and Israeli intelligence was that this meeting might authorize a massive preemptive Iranian strike against Israel and U.S. assets throughout the region. With Iran already positioning missiles and drones for potential launch, the threat was considered imminent.
Because the meeting was scheduled during daylight hours on the Sabbath, Iranian leadership apparently believed they were safe. Israel historically does not attack on the Sabbath or during daylight hours, and negotiations with the United States were still ongoing. Those assumptions proved to be catastrophic miscalculations.
The strike was executed with extraordinary precision.
U.S. forces launched Tomahawk cruise missiles flying low along the Persian Gulf. Israeli aircraft deployed air-launched ballistic missiles designed to climb into the upper atmosphere before plunging directly down onto the target. The strike destroyed the compound where the leadership meeting was taking place.
According to reports, more than forty senior Iranian leaders were killed in that single attack, including the Supreme Leader himself.
At the same time, American naval forces neutralized much of the Iranian navy. U.S. submarines launched cruise missiles while also sinking Iranian vessels operating in the region. Nearly thirty Iranian ships have reportedly been destroyed or surrendered to neutral ports.
Air superiority was quickly established. Stealth aircraft had already mapped Iranian defenses, allowing coordinated strikes to disable missile batteries and radar systems. Now that the skies are controlled, a massive bombing campaign is underway using precision-guided weapons and JDAM-equipped bombs targeting military infrastructure throughout Iran.
The scale of this operation is immense. Bombers, fighters, and long-range strike aircraft from both nations are systematically dismantling Iran’s military capability, including missile sites, command centers, and production facilities.
Iran has attempted retaliation. Initially they launched over one hundred missiles per day, but that capability has already been reduced dramatically as launch systems are destroyed. Most incoming missiles are intercepted by Israeli and allied defense systems.
Iran has also attempted psychological warfare. A wave of AI-generated propaganda videos has been circulated claiming massive American casualties and civilian disasters that never occurred. These fabricated reports have unfortunately been repeated by some international media outlets, illustrating how misinformation has become a modern battlefield.
Meanwhile, the conflict has expanded regionally. Hezbollah attempted to fire rockets from Lebanon into Israel, prompting immediate Israeli counterstrikes. Israel has now launched operations in southern Lebanon aimed at pushing Hezbollah forces back to the Litani River and dismantling their strongholds.
Within the United States, the political response has been deeply divided. Critics argue that the president lacked authority to initiate military action, while supporters point out that the War Powers Act grants the president authority to respond to imminent threats. Congressional attempts to restrict the operation have already failed.
From a strategic standpoint, the objective of this campaign is clear: eliminate Iran’s nuclear capability, dismantle its missile program, and cripple its ability to sponsor terror across the Middle East.
But beyond geopolitics, there is also a spiritual dimension to these events.
The Scriptures repeatedly warn us that the nations surrounding Israel will rise in hostility against her in the last days. Conflicts in the Middle East remind us that the world is moving closer to the prophetic scenarios described by the prophets. As believers, we must remain spiritually awake and discerning.
Our responsibility is not panic or speculation, but faithfulness. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem. We pray for wisdom for leaders. And we remain steadfast in our commitment to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
We also pray for our American troops and the Israeli troops that are in harm’s way right now while defending freedom and Israel’s right to exist. Please keep them in your prayers steadfastly.
These events remind us how fragile the world can be—and how important it is to remain grounded in the truth of the Scriptures and the promises of the Lord.
That’s the update for this week.
Shabbat Shalom to all of you.
