March 29th, 2024 | Messianic World Update | Insights on Israel's Conflict with Hezbollah and Hamas
Hello everyone! This is Monte Judah with the Messianic World Update. Today’s date is March 29th of the year 2024, and I'd like to share some of the recent developments in the Middle East.
We are witnessing an intense period in the Middle East, particularly with Israel's conflict with Hezbollah and Hamas. The region is teetering on the brink of a full-scale war. Just recently, the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) has been preparing for potential incursions into southern Lebanon. The fear is that Hezbollah, like Hamas, might launch attacks on Israeli citizens, pushing Israel into a defensive position.
The release of hostages has become a central issue in the conflict. Initially, a ceasefire resolution presented by the U.S., during a meeting of the Security Council at the United Nations, linked the cessation of hostilities to the release of hostages. However, Russia and China vetoed this resolution. Later, Russia and China put forward their own resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire, but it omitted any mention of the hostages. Surprisingly, the U.S. abstained from voting, allowing the resolution to pass. This move has caused a significant upset with Israel, marking a shift in the U.S.-Israel relationship.
The Biden administration's position has been perceived as being unsupportive of Israel. Despite its claims of backing Israel, the U.S. has shown opposition to Israel's plans to enter Rafah, the final stronghold of Hamas in Gaza. The U.S. administration has expressed concerns about potential civilian casualties and interruptions to aid distribution. This stance has led to delays in Israel's military operations, creating a disconnect between the U.S. and Israel on the strategic approach to the conflict.
In light of these events, I would like to stress the importance of understanding the broader picture. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is not just about military strategy or territorial disputes but also a spiritual battle between light and darkness.
In the meantime, we must continue to pray for the safety of everyone involved in this conflict, particularly the hostages and their families, the IDF, and the peace of Jerusalem. Pray also for our nation and leaders, and fellow believers everywhere.
Thank you for joining me for this update. Your support and prayers are deeply appreciated. Shabbat Shalom to all of you.
