This week has brought major developments in Israel that have both political and prophetic implications. As believers who look to the Scriptures for understanding, we must see these events not merely as headlines, but as steps toward the fulfillment of God’s promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
E1 Settlement Approved — A Step Toward Sovereignty
Bezalel Smotrich, Israel’s Finance Minister, has approved new Jewish housing in the highly contested E1 area, east of Jerusalem. For over 20 years, this land has been off limits because it connects East Jerusalem to Ma’ale Adumim and effectively disrupts Palestinian territorial continuity between Judea and Samaria. The Palestinians see this as a death blow to their vision of a contiguous state. For us, this move is a reaffirmation of God’s covenant promise — that this land belongs to the descendants of Abraham.
Smotrich stated plainly that E1 is an inseparable part of the Land of Israel given by God. President Trump and Ambassador Huckabee have not opposed the move, and both have expressed opposition to a Palestinian state. From a Messianic perspective, we recognize this as part of God’s unfolding plan to restore Israel’s full sovereignty over the land.
Netanyahu and the “Greater Israel” Vision
In a recent interview, Prime Minister Netanyahu was asked if he envisions a “Greater Israel.” Locally, that term refers to Israel’s post-1967 borders, including East Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, Gaza, and the Golan Heights. Netanyahu answered without hesitation — “very much so.” The Arab world fears the biblical definition of Greater Israel, which extends into what is now Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and beyond.
This expansion is not just politics — it sets the stage for prophecy. For Israel to fulfill end-time events, they must control East Jerusalem, the mountains of Israel, and at least part of the Temple Mount. The groundwork is being laid for an altar to be built there, which Yeshua identified as a key sign of the last days.
Prophetic Implications — The Temple Mount and the Daily Sacrifice
Religious Jews already have all the materials ready to set a cornerstone and build an altar on the Temple Mount. They say they could begin sacrifices within 15 minutes of gaining the land. The moment annexation occurs, the possibility becomes very real. According to prophecy, the altar will be shut down under intense opposition — marking the start of the Great Tribulation. These developments in annexation are not distant possibilities; they could happen before the end of the year.
Deception and Warfare in Gaza
The IDF has uncovered Hamas operatives disguised as aid workers, even using a World Central Kitchen vehicle. An Al Jazeera “reporter” recently killed by the IDF was actually a Hamas commander in disguise. In direct fighting this week, Hamas lost 123 fighters. Israel continues to inspect aid trucks for weapons, despite international complaints.
Lebanon Pushes Back on Hezbollah
In a surprising move, Lebanon’s president has called for all armed groups, including Hezbollah, to leave the country. The Lebanese government does not want to become another Gaza, despite Hezbollah’s claims of “defending” Lebanon from Israel.
Media Bias and the October 7 Documentary
At the Toronto International Film Festival, a Canadian documentary on Hamas’s October 7 attack was blocked. The excuse? The filmmakers lacked “permission” from Hamas to use their own attack footage. This is absurd, as Hamas had already released the footage publicly. The real reason seems to be shielding audiences from the truth. Thankfully, Toronto’s Jewish community will show the film in September.
Houthi Missiles — A Nuisance, Not a Threat
The IDF continues to shoot down occasional missiles from Yemen’s Houthis. These attacks are more symbolic than strategic — like lighting leftover fireworks after the holiday has passed.

We are living in times where biblical prophecy is converging with world events. Annexation, control of the Temple Mount, and preparations for sacrifices are no longer theoretical. They are imminent possibilities. Watch and pray.
